  This company quoted nearly £3000 to fit a Studio 1 Slimline gas fire, I shopped around and managed to get a quote for £1945. I prefer to use local business so the Fireplace Company matched it and they started the job on 1st September. The instructions for the job were to fit the fire flush to the exposed block wall so that the wall could be tiled following the installation. The installation was atrocious! The fire was left loose in the wall and not secured back to the block wall. The hole in the wall is supposed to be lined on all four sides, it had not been lined at the bottom meaning I would be heating a large cavity wall instead of my lounge. The insulating board that had been fitted to the top and sides was sticking out further than the wall meaning the fire could not be secured back. The new hole that had to be made had bee bashed out instead of being neatly cut out. The fire comes with a battery pack to provide power for lighting the fire, the box to hold this battery pack was very badly fitted and fitted into a wall that they knew was going to be covered with tiles! The areas around the lintel that needed filling with mortar were completed very badly with the whole area above the lintel being unevenly pressed in with fingers! The hole left by the old fire was supposed to be filled and it was but very very badly, the fireplace company even stole brick from my garden to fill this hole! Because the fireplace company decided not to finish the job on the day they left a 15 cm hole in an exterior wall that would allow rain into the cavity and onto the rear of the fire! I brought all of these concerns to Tony's attention who's comments were that he was getting 'tired' of hearing about it! He made claims that the bottom of the hole should not be insulated despite the manufacturer making clear that it had to be, he later accepted that the lining of the bottom was correct and claimed that the change in instructions was in August when the instructions were printed in July 2016! He claimed he had left the fire loose in the wall and would complete the job when the tiles had been fitted yet his work made it impossible for the wall to be tiled! When I asked about the socket for the battery pack he claimed it was the only place it could go as the cable had to be sleeved??? It has subsequently been fitted to a different wall and sleeved!! Given how rude Tony was and how unwilling the fireplace company were to listen or address the concerns of a paying customer I asked for and agreed with Tony for the return on my deposit and the removal of the fire he had partially installed. The fireplace company went back on this agreement and threated court proceedings if I did not pay for the work or pay them £707 for the work they had done and removal of the fire! I have had to undertake various remedial works to correct the atrocious job that was left by the fireplace company as the only offer to rectify the mess left was that they would install the insulating board in the hole. I have attached pictures of what was left after their work. I would be very careful if you are doing business with this company, they did not follow my requests, made a big mess of the job, ignored my concerns and then threatened court proceedings!

  Great range of fires, good quality stoves and a 5* service! I was really pleased with the installation service, neat and tidy, they removed all the rubbish and nothing was too much trouble. Would 100% recommend this company!
